I noticed that the PR on the M105 supports has a line about USB connectivity. When I checked the Palm web site I found that the USB kit allows for connecting the Palm cradle to any PC or Mac USB port:

The USB kit works with all models except the M100. Someone here was concerned that Palm didn't offer USB connectivity, but clearly they do, albeit with a $$39.95 add-on.

Looks to me like the M105 is a good replacement for the IIIxe despite the smaller screen size. I guess they'll continue the IIIxe sale until they've moved the inventory.
