I can think of only two ways that gun control could work to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally disturbed and criminals. One would be if it was backed up by an efficient and sometime brutal police state. The other would be if the mentally disturbed and criminals no longer wanted guns. Neither the Canadians nor the Europeans have brutal police forces and I don't think their forces are much more efficient then our current police. However, most police forces in major cities in the US are considered already to be pretty brutal. And if you question that, talk to a black man or a latino male. ted
