Exactly! And the Anandtech article was mostly server-centric.

re your previous post: Most apps don't need more memory bandwidth. Linked lists (the core of most database apps) are much more dependent on latency than bandwidth.

P4/Rambus do nothing for latency, so don't expect across the board speedup from new applications on P4.


Desktop market will be flat to down. The server and laptop markets are where the growth will be. Intel is focusing on growing the business through these segments. This is EXACTLY what the market wants to see from Intel.
