hi mag

some quick replies....

it is not normal to have to make 3-4 attempts to image a drive.

for whatever reason, driveimage does not recognize my iomega jaz drive either. for a while there, i was intent on figuring that one out, then i lost my motivation for it. i suppose the fact that i place my images on a second physical hard drive was reason enough to shine on the jaz drive non-recognition prob.

i always run di with no compression on.

i also run di3.0

have you viewed any of the faq's and knowledge base articles at the powerquest tech support site?

:)

mark

Be careful using older versions of Drive Image with Norton Utilities or Antivirus software.

I upgraded to Drive Image 4 to solve a error messages when restoring images. I would get an error while restoring, gave me code, I think it was 29. Decoded it meant Locked Drive I think.

If you stopped and tried to exit drive image, you will loose your partition info for that drive, and if you have a D: installed that drive will turn into C: What you would have to do, is stay in Drive Image and proceeded with the restore.

You can do major damage here. I almost formatted D: as the computer called it C:. I realised it was my D: when I noticed the size. I didn't have the Drive Image rescue disks, so I had to reinstall Windows and Drive Image.

Drive Image 4 doesn't have this conflict with Norton or Virus programs.

Get drive image 4, its solid. Make sure the rescuse disks for Drive Image in case you have any problems.

Call tech support if you need support, awesome service.

Get Drive Image 4, you can download an upgrade from thier site:

I use DriveImage.

So far, in nearly two years, this program has never failed to produce an image correctly on the first try. I have never used anything other than high compression, although I've tried no and lo as experiments.

Have you tried removing DI and re-installing without ZIP drive support? DI is easy to remove.

Cheers, PW.
