You don't KNOW he rose from the dead.

It is possible he didn't.

And that he was dead and has now seen the error of his ways.

"Seriously, what makes Christianity more or less true than Judaism, Islam, Hinduism or Zoroastrianism? Not to mention the less god-centred creeds such as Buddhism or Taoism? Or ones sadly extinct, such as Mithraism, or Greek or Viking polytheism...the founders of all those other religions are now dead and have seen the errors of their ways. "

No , they are not dead , but alive and well
and were incorporated and borrowed into
Christianity . That's just how things work.

Christian teachings are not new and are
relevant to you only as it is your chosen dogma,
totem and tradition by birth ,
but are based and grow out
of earlier yearnings and inspired
visions of other faiths preceding .

In the religion of Zoroastrianism , the Messiah/Savior
Zarathustri taught there was
one Great God of glory ,goodness
and light , who was the
Father of all creation.
zoroastrianism.com

The Messiah Zarathustra taught 8000 years ago ,
the love of God was the greatest gift ,
and love for all sentient
creatures and fellow man.

The belief was embedded in the idea that
Gods divine laws governed the entire
movement in the universe ,
the seasons of the earth
and man's heart.

The path to salvation was thru obeying
the laws of righteouness , and to thwart
the ways of the Evil One,
by acts of love , good deeds ,
respect for life and living
things etc, so that the world
would finally be cleansed
of evil , and preparation for the Kingdom of God
on earth as it was in heaven.

He gave his Laws to prevent one from being led
into "temptation" by the "evil" one ....

In the one great prayer of Zorostrianism ,
then ending of that prayer recited many
1000's of years
ago went:

------> " Thy will be done , thy kingdom come on earth
as it is in heaven ..."

sound familiar ?

regards,

;-)

PS: Your claim that Jesus is above all the rest
is also not new . That his teachings are holy for you
is fine , but they were/are not "new" and unique .

Also it is extremely common trait to make up stories &
to elevate the prophets of your chosen religion
to godhead, it has been done for 1000's of years
with many other prophets , Kings , Messiahs ,
Pharoahs, Emperors , Popes , before.

Seriously, the founders of all those other religions are now dead and have seen the errors of their ways. Jesus rose from the dead and thereby validated all the claims He made.

Rather begging the question, that... the 'evidence' for a religion being based purely and simply on the holy book of said religion.
"I know the Bible is the Word of God, because it says so in the Bible. And because it's the Word of God, it must be right."
Circular argument, anyone?

BTW, what religion was Jesus? <g>

Oh, I have heard of Alpha. And it's just as convincing as any other cult, with just as much - or as little - to offer.
