OT

BTW, the incident involving our sub and the japanese tourist boat was indeed a tragedy and we should apologize. But isn't it ironic that the japanese have yet to apologize to us for Pearl Harbor?

Lets see, you want to kill somebody, you bomb their harbor, sink their ships and later lose the war and then you apologize? It seems to me the unconditional surrender took care of that. Perhaps since I was not alive back then I don't see it the same way?

Hardly the same as making a mistake in judgement and killing some of your friends in a fishing boat with one of your warships playing Tom Clancy. THAT deserves an apology.

Joseph,
The way history is currently taught in the US, they never will have to. Most young folks are now under the impression that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor because we nuked Hiroshima.
As far as the Sword goes, you are right a new one is appearing to replace the old one. I addressed that with star wars, controlled destruction of nukes and increased anti-terrorism activities. And I, too, am most concerned with biological weapons. Mike
