I refuse to believe that your powers of comprehension are so severely diminished. I have candidly and repeatedly said to you and others that I read your thread regularly and find the comments regarding specific companies and stocks to be excellent. Yes, I have used your thread extensively for its strengths in the assessment of the fundamentals of stocks. I have been equally forthright in stating that certain aspects of the investment approach that you and others have espoused on the thread has, IMO, been flawed. I have also been critical of you and others for rejecting the contributions of those who have departed from the mainstream opinion on the thread. I have even referred to contributors on your thread as being well-intentioned. So please, if you are going to fault me for my criticism of your thread at least be accurate as to what it is that I have said. As far as "the hateful things that I have written", don't make the mistake of equating my statement about not hating anyone with my turning the other cheek. Tekboy launched an attack against me without any provocation other than that I had the effrontery to criticize you. He also alleged that what had got to him was my purported glee at the G&K'ers losing money. You know perfectly well that I did nothing of the sort. I did not wish ill on the GK'ers or anyone else for that matter but I never doubted that there would be a day of reckoning - and that is what I said to you. Voltaire and you (your thread) have a following; I have this perhaps simplistic view that those in such a privileged position have a responsibility to their "followers" - and it has nothing to do with legal exposure or obligations. I feel that both Voltaire and you/your thread have been remiss in meeting that responsibility. Voltaire with his rah rah urging to buy stocks at least since the Composite was at over 4000 and repeated calls for a bottom which were based on a wing and a prayer. Your thread has, IMO, been irresponsible in advocating a flawed investment approach - and I am not referring to the concept of gorilla gaming as much as how it should be used in the context of an investment portfolio. The "valuation does not matter" mentality that prevailed on your thread should have been tempered a long while ago. I have no doubt that both you and Voltaire are well intentioned people but has it ever crossed your mind that people have lost a lot of money following your advice? "The Class of 2000" as your refer to those who espoused gorilla gaming during the first quarter of 2000 have had their heads handed to them - does that bother you at all? You have personally posted advice that pretty much threw caution to the winds with regard to market valuations. It may be years before those who entered those stocks near their highs get back to break-even. Yes, I know all about the standard disclaimer that everyone should do their own diligence, etc - but that does not obviate the need for those providing the advice to do the same. Finally, you are the last person who should be talking about anyone else's hypocrisy given your conduct with regard to Poet's situation. You should be ashamed of yourself - you a purported "friend" of Poet. I have said what I feel about your conduct on this link:Message 15430663 I sincerely hope that your wife or daughter is never subjected to the kind of vicious attack that Poet faced - and if either of them should encounter something like it, that there is not a "uf" - leave alone a "uf" who they they thought of as a friend - who will take it upon himself to condemn the victim for her breach of protocol even as that "uf" maintains a deafening silence about the action of the perpetrators.
