ben, basic cost / benefit & supply / demand are powerful economic concepts with great predicting abilities. these simple concepts showed me amzn was a joke. i was buying puts on the bow wow at split adjusted $3 and $4 b/c i knew it was a bankrupt concept worth very little. the #1 profit generator in the world is consumer ignorance. take that away and profits disappear. what does the net do? ;-) the business benefit of the net is a worldwide audience and minimal b&m costs (not as minimal as previously thought, though). the market went silly based on these two premises. the equation above is cost / benefit, not just benefit. the cost is a super educated consumer that can now shop cost very effectively. that overlooked cost was HUGE! now they know not to mess with basic economics. well, at least they are broke ;-) ok, so i underestimated the means of the ignorati by putting at $3 and $4 ;-) thank goodness i didn't short!
