I don't think a modest tax cut would be so bad right now, though I agree it shouldn't be necessary to trash talk the economy to get support for it.

That was what I was trying to say.

Just making the point that the government charged to much and should give it back should be sufficient. Trashing the economy is overkill and doing damage. IMO
