Interesting. But do you think that the houses wanted the market to go down partly to scare people into having their money "professionally managed" rather than left to the devices of unwashed individuals who merely get their info on SI, TMF, their own research, etc.? I noticed a dramatic increase in unsolicited mailings and phone calls over these past months while the market skidded, usually with a soft-sell approach along the lines of, "Do you feel comfortable with your investments and who's managing them?" Maybe enough people are going back to the pros to let them begin taking the market back up and convince the customers how "good" they are.<g>
