Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to Macdonalds makes you a big mac. Many people go to Church because it is the cultural thing to do. Or just to meet chicks.

The coefficient of correlation on that data is -.48; not particularly strong. The first data set (attendance) explains about 25% of the variance in the second set (suicide rate).
