Financing for the 2001 drill exploration program at the Lorraine-Jajay project is substantially complete, and the project field work will commence later this month.

The Lorraine-Jajay property is located about 170 kilometres northwest of the City of Smithers, British Columbia. Within the 1,042 claim property (100 square miles) is a defined open-pittable resource containing 0.66% copper and 0.17 grams of gold per tonne. Management believes there is an immediate opportunity for the company to increase this resource to over 60 million tonnes. In addition to the central deposits at Lorraine-Jajay, there are undefined occurrences of palladium and platinum mineralization. The "PGM" potential here was first investigated by British Petroleum in 1992.

Eastfield will begin the 2001 program at Lorraine-Jajay in late June and will dedicate most of the first phase $500,000 budget to drilling extensions to the current resource.
