Don,
I've been using opera for about 7mo now. IMO its about 95% there but it doesn't quite have the polish that IE or netscape have (or the huge file size either) The only major bug is that sometimes the mail window doesn't refresh when focus is changed. Also you'll find there are some java scripts that opera doesn't seem to like. In addition on some web sites you'll need to change what opera identifies itself as or the website will not reconize opera as a browser capable of advanced features (ala IE or netscape).

I guess I'll say I liked it enough to pay for it so you have my overall eval right there :)

Happy computing
Rob

Opera is my 2nd browser and I do love it, although the speed difference between IE 5.5 and Opera 5.0 is not nearly as noticable as prior versions. One thing I like about Opera are the bookmarks that come with the browser; that is reason enough to get it. Opera also has nice features like a zoom feature which goes to a magnification level of 1000%. You can also let Opera tell you when it's finished with the loading of a page or a file download, got to "File/Preferences", "Sounds". There you can determine which sound should be played. Also built in is the ability to resume transfers! Starting the Transfer window you'll now find that any transfer that's been either canceled or otherwise disrupted will be resumable through the action button's "Resume transfer" entry.

Small things which add up to a very pleasant experience.
