So we have a situtation were law breakers - break laws.

Do you think they might just use another weapon type if they couldn't get a gun - or they'd just stay home.

I suppose the Columbine boys brought the bombs and knives for show?

They think they can shoot people because they have a gun. If they didn't have a gun, they would not shoot people.

Many millions of people have guns and have never tried to shoot any one. In the past in the US guns were common but few people used them to shoot each other.

In the Columbine case they planned for a long time. Its unlikely that any gun control short of a rigidly enforced complete ban would have stopped them.
