Penny, What do you think about AlphaTrade's E-Gate ?
Vinny, I still say it's the best deal available, and I am very pleased with it.
Penny, What are you looking for in a quote provider ?
Vinny, The main things that I look for are:

Penny, In your opinion, how do we compare with your previous quote provider ?
Vinny, Alphatrade is much more reliable than my prior Platinum package with MyTrack. Their Level 2
information has not been accurate, and although they have many features, the drain on system
resources tends to limit what one can do using other programs. Alphatrade is also less than 1/3 the
price of MyTrack
Penny, What enhancements would you like to see in future versions of E-Gate ?
Vinny,
1.Second L2 screen so 4 stocks can be tracked simultaneously
2.Grid lines added to the quote grid so that tracking across the screen is easier
3.Real Time Dynamic Time & Sales Log
4.Full day's constantly updating transaction log
5.A "Market Scan" feature which can be customized by the user for News, Price, Volume, %
change
6.formation and then run as needed to see which stocks are falling into the parameters set
7.Larger fonts and ability to alter font colors
8.Ability to maximize the L2 screens to full screen
Penny, What is your experience as an investor ?
Vinny, I have traded on and off since about 1984, but only in the last 2 years have I become an
"active" investor. I quit my job in March 2000 to trade full time. I trade mostly on the OTC-BB
exchange and some of the lower priced NASDAQ stocks. My current average is 120 trades per
month, and I am more of a "daytrader" than "position trader".
Penny, Is it important that you do not have to download software to your computer, thereby
avoiding any possible viruses ?
Vinny, Although I have virus-scanning software to protect my system, I can agree that this is an issue
that is important. Beyond the virus issue, the fact that the software does not need to be constantly
updated is important as a time saver, and also, being web based you eliminate the possibility of the
software causing a system problem when installed.
Penny, When you use free services, do you like having to support advertising or the limited
accessibility for those "free" applications ?
Vinny, I cannot stand the limitations or the advertising on the "free" services. I do keep Juno Web and
Yahoo free ISP services on my system, but only as a dial-up backup service should my cable modem
service go down. I don't like the cookies that any of the free services drop all through your system, nor
do I like the limited screen space available.
Penny, How many companies do you trade and how many do you watch ?
Vinny, I usually keep 40 to 50 stocks on a watch list and trade up to 5 or 6 per day, usually in and out
for a "roll". This is where the "market scan" feature mentioned in #4 above really pays off.
Penny, With E-Gate you can access your watch screen or portfolio from any computer
including behind corporate firewalls. Do you feel this is a big advantage over other providers ?
Vinny, I do not have this problem, since I work from my home, but I can readily see that the
accessibility thru firewalls is a huge advantage. I do know several investors using other services that
are "blind" when they are at work and this alone puts Alphatrade head and shoulders above others.
Penny, At Alphatrade customer support and service are the top priority for our subscribers.
How have you been treated in the past with your previous provider ?
Vinny, MyTrack has no idea of the term customer service. They have poor response times, and even
in their real time chat room, if you complain too loudly, they ban you from the chat or tell you to be
quiet. They also do not give any credit for loss of service even when they admit it was their fault. I do
not consider a $10 credit for an entire lost month of Level 2 service that was an admitted problem
acceptable when my service had a $97 per month charge to it.
Penny, If you have needed support with AlphaTrade were your questions answered to your
satisfaction and was the AlphaTrade service representative polite and knowledgeable ?
Vinny, I have had to call 2 times and both times was connected to a representative fast. I was also
treated with courtesy, and it seems that they knew what I was talking about. Both times problem fixed
and questions answered in a very short time period.
Penny, Do you feel E-Gate is priced competively at $17 plus exchange fees ?
Vinny, In my opinion, E-Gate is the absolute best deal on the market for the service provided.
Penny, Where did you hear about AlphaTrade ?
Vinny, It was recommended to me by another investor. Since then I have recommended it, and others
who subscribed have recommended it, and I would say that in the last 30 days at least 25 people have
switched to Alphatrade from MyTrack.
