boss told me to go to a meeting today with somebody from EPRI (turned out he was somebody I went to high school with) -- EPRI is starting a real campaign of sorts to educate the public and policymakers about the economics of coal. Also, a big research initiative to push the envelope on "clean" coal technologies There are plans on the drawing board now for plants that are really apt to be built ... about time, IMO
