I consider that the position of Catholic bishops each if citizens with the right to express an opinion. Now as long as they don't say that if you don't vote their way you are damned to hell I don't see what the problem is. Many Catholics ignore many more fundamental rules of the church which may indeed damn them to hell so I don't see that the opinion of the Bishops carries any more weight than you or I. Yes OK they may carry many with their opinion. But as I dpn't know the issue I don't know wether i would agree or not. As to the chruch flyers, The Bishops have the authority to cover all issues. This is not mean that this is the position of the Catholic Church.

I personally don't think that this is a good idea, but that's my opinion as a Catholic on the church and politics. But America is about free speech and other Catholics have different opinions.
