ed,

wtih any luck this is only the first of two false spring rallys, though i am not sure how we are going to fit both in btwn. now and june! as for the grief, i can only counsel stops. i just have this overwhelming feeling, kinda like heartburn, that we move up nicely here and numbers we don't like only cause burps. stop out on burps and climb back in - with stops. inflation will be seen more and more to be a dead issue. delflation is far worse, and i think maybe we are in for it. makes your money worth more, no? (i like heartbreak hill and desloation valley - john wayne would have been right at home there.)

what do you mean UNLESS something blows up in the m.e.? as soon as the israelis blast the iraqui nuke facilitiles we all get passes to 'pass go and collect $200.'

sorry, au is gold. got carried away. does deflation drop the pog? all indications seem to point that way? only inflation causes gold to go up. no?

forget about the heart-on-my-sleeve democrat - only the young can afford such foibles.

scrips: nurse-talk for prescriptions. wife and i have 6 scrips btwn. us and the cost is unbelievable, even tho they aren't anything special. everybody within driving distance of mex. goes there for their meds. snowbirds from up north come down here and spend the winter in weird-assed trailer parks, buy a big supply of scrips, and head back to wisconsin, etc., for the summer.

don't worry. the innocents will get robbed again. we may move in before the herd, and out before, but in the meantime we travel with them down the yellow brick road. with luck!

i'm not the only one with messy paragraphs.

don

am off to bed and let the 'yotes sing me to sleep.

. I know that I have been left holding for spikes that never came because the real money that moves stocks and markets was signaling buy and hold, while it was selling and trading. (editor's note; if you understood this paragraph please explain it to me. I need help with it. I must post it, however, because there is an off chance it may have some meaning which will occur to me later.)
it's simple. look at accumulation/distribution|VC exit strategies|"creative destruction" gone mad|Raza Foundies et al|energy price specula, and you've got your answer. Short public markets for the next ten years, until the nadir of the market and you will have had a clue.

I don't have the schedule of fed econ news but it seems that there is something at the end of this week and then later this month we get cpi's and more.

Here's a nice calendar I found yesterday:

Also have nice commentary on the weekly API/DOE #'s:
