The long-awaited chipset, which will, initially, allow system integrators to build dual processing systems is already ready and tested, we understand, but the expediencies of marketing [err, don't you mean finding OEMs and partners? Ed.] are delaying the actual launch. AMD is taking a particular interest in the Beowulf clustering project, details of which you can find at this Web page and wish to recruit system integrators capable of giving this type of platform a go. One large US integrator told The Register that AMD will give it a date for launch next week, while another said that the date was likely to be towards the end of Q2. The original date for launch of the 760MP was Q1, but AMD's own Web site now says Q2 is the preferred date for launch. AMD is edging very warily into the corporate marketplace, conscious that Intel views its share of this pie very jealously indeed. Meanwhile, AMD's charismatic leader Hector Ruiz delivered a set of slides to its investors yesterday evening, details of which you can find on its own Web site. There was little new to report here, save that, as Ace's Hardware points out, it is likely that AMD will use the execrable Cebit show in Hangover to deliver some Palomino stuff to the world+dog. That will probably include mobile kit, which is beginning to attract the "overdue" tag.
