you never know. After all, we are not even sure of the differences between t-birds and palominos. And did not t-birds take over athlon family fairly quickly?

Even if Palomino sneaks in under the 1Q01 wire, it seems improbable that it would immediately put t-bird out of production.

It would be ideal if there was no overlap between Tbird and Palomino (which would simplify marketing), but I don't think it's going to happen. That way, AMD could just call Palomino Athlon, without a need to give further qualifiers.
