The most relevant statistic I can provide is that the Nasdaq-100's aggregate earnings have increased 58% from January 1999 to January 2001.

I'm not sure what kind of impact the newly profitable Nasdaq-100 companies will have on the PE, but FYI the Nasdaq-100's aggregate earnings in January 2001 was about $37.5 billion. The rest of the Nasdaq Comp only add about $4 billion in earnings.
