Re Dell Ventures, FYI:

In January 2000, Dell put $100 million into Divine InterVentures (DVIN). They may have added to that when DVIN got public last July, but I'd have to look it up (several large tech cos. invested large sums then including MSFT, HWP). Anyway, DVIN was a joke of an incubator (IMO) - "the next ICG" - and now has a market cap of a little over $200 million ($1.50 share price) and Dell's stake is worth less than $27 million (assuming it could actually be sold for a buck fifty per share).

Just thought ya'll might find it interesting.

I hope they've done significantly better in their other investments.

Bob

PS: DVIN was never likely, IMO, to be helpful in "pumping Dell products".
