Can't talk you out of it Greg....looks pretty enticing given the two previous trips (and bounces) from 50 !

Because you hate to collect money for selling time! >VBG<
I like the 50's as well! I would also sell the options that are closer to expiration, for most of the premium is sucked out of options in the last 4 to 6 weeks of their life. Then if you can roll out again Greg. To get $5 you have to go out too far in time IMO. Just my two cents worth!

welllll.....to put in my 2 cents......It looks to me like QCOM still hasn't bottomed out yet. Although i agree that 40 is a good price, i think it would be best to sell an OTM put when you think the stock will go flat or up.

So if you're convinced that's what the stock will do, then go for it. If you think it's still searching for a bottom, then wait.

But i would watch things carefully cause i do believe the fed will lower rates at the next meeting and thereby cause a pop of some sort.

Greg, the only problem might be if your brokerage firm insists that you have enough assets in your account to cover the purchase of stock at 45. I also believe that selling a put option is best done with a fairly distant expiration date in order to take advantage of the premium attached to the option.

An alternative to selling put options is to buy the actual stock on margin, but if you choose that route, it seems too risky to carry more than 20 percent of your account assets on margin (i.e., don't margin the maximum 50% allowable -- too risky).
