"The sheer fact that a highly regarded company like Shell would take such an aggressive posture speaks volumes about
Shell's thoughts regarding the future of natural gas prices in the United States," Bracken said as he upgraded Anadarko

ROYL 's value

I understand that there will be some additonal pipeline capacity into California in 2-3 years.

Don't know how much that will dampen prices, since generators & houses can be built
sooner than pipelines.

ROYL has a lot of room to run with their Victor Ranch properties. Also, they have some very good people,
especial their chief geologist, who used head up exploration for Amoco. So I expect there will
additional growth in NG volumes.

California NG pricing...
For this year (2001), unless it's really cool this summer, California will run out of Hydro power by late July, and eat it's NG reserves & much of the pipeline capacity for air conditioning before winter. Then to get lucky, California would need a Warm, wet winter. Winters tend to be either Cold & Dry, Cold & Wet or Warm & Dry.
Cold & Dry is worse, means less hydro power. So California exits NEXT winter with little storage of NG or Hydro...

I would not be surprised if this time next year ROYL is in the $15 -20 range, with earnings > $1.50 -$2.00 and a P/E of 10-12.
