>>>and people like blodget applauded his business model during the time when many people lost their job due to bezo selling a dollar bill for 90c. Is that fair competition<<<

1st, any company that loses money can be accused of selling $1 for 90 cents. AMZN is not the 1st company to incur loses qtr-after-qtr, so nothing new here.
You fail to give Bezos the credit he deserves. He was one of the 1st people to realize that you could indeed make money by selling stuff over the internet. That's one of the reasons why he was named Time Mag Person of the Year.
Whether he succeeds or not, his effort will be permanently recorded in the annals of US business. I still dont see why you are so aggrieved about the people he put out of business. That's capitalism for you. If he did anything wrong (say like Microsoft?), he will be pursued by the relevant authorities!
Another thing thing you fail to realize is those mom and pops can also sell their stuff over the internet if they so choose either by building their own e-commerce web sites or by listing on ebay or yahoo shopping.
Nuff said.
