SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Intel Corp. here today (March 7) announced the opening of a new center in Japan that will help OEMs develop products based on its communications chip products.

The new Intel Internet Exchange Architecture (IXA) Competency Center will fall under the auspices of the Intel K.K. Communication Technology Group in Tsukuba.

The center's mission is to promote the development of IXA in Japan. Intel's IXA is a comprehensive framework of Intel's communications chip line.

The center in Japan will also focus on the development of products for so-called fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications. Japan's FTTH deployment is said to be the most advanced in the world, as it is expected that optical fiber will be delivered to most Japanese homes within a few years.

"The formation of an Intel Internet Exchange Architecture Competency Center in Japan will help to accelerate the deployment of Intel IXA-based FTTH solutions such as residential gateways and other end user Internet access equipment," said Tom Franz, vice president and general manager of Intel's Network Processing Group.

RE: "he is entitled to his opinion"

No one said he wasn't entitled to express his opinion.

This is why I don't have him on Ignore.

Why do you think I don't participate in the Mod Thread (although, I can certainly see the merits of it and may reconsider my position on this).

He is entitled to express his opinion.

Just like members of this Thread have a right to express their opinion about his opinion, a point you may have missed, as you were so focused on his "rights" (I put this in quotes, as you did).

Regarding your implied comment regarding not having a "right" to not be offended. Let me simply say this for you to reflect upon, the environment in which you create and tolerate, is the environment in which you live in.

RE: "There are MANY more important issues than someones sexist posts"

Care to ask your wife for her opinion on this?

When small offenses are tolerated, this leads a pathway to bigger offenses. A community creates a culture and each member is chartered to enhance it.

RE: "on an internet bulletin board"

This is a group.
