Refuse is highly underrated.

Refuse, mulch, is the mother of life (imo, etc etc).

Assuming personal immortality and a caring God, life has objective meaning as well, and will be brought to account by God, so that everything is, at last, in its place.

Well, thank goodness there is nothing that prevents you from making such assumptions! It is YOUR MIND. YOU OWN IT. You can believe anything you wish!

it is a lot better than being haunted by an unmitigated sense of futility.

If this is your only alternative to your assumptions above lauded, then may I say that you are coming from a position of desperation and your arguments may suffer from a number of biases caused by your chosen need. I don't know why you demand certainty of the future when you do not exist there. It seems you have painted yourself into a corner and thrown your peace of mind across the room.

Well, it is not my role to convince you of anything. If ASSUMING "personal immortality and a caring God" are the only assumptions that will do it for you...then to Hell with the facts--just be happy.
