<<<<David Almstrom, vice president, business strategies of Ericsson China. "All I'm going to do today is tell you exactly what's happening in China.>>>

And then he proceeds to ignore what is most important - the advent of CDMA IS-95 which Ericsson has the infrastructure capability for.

Both pitiful and FUD.

He represents Ericsson's primary problem which is "legacy people".

We have learned that legacy equipment is a drag but legacy people in this age where people are the key asset, not equipment, are even more of a drag.

Still curious why Ericsson bought Qualcomm's infrastructure assets, but it seems more and more as if it was to bury them.

This guy either has no clue, or he is just engaged in FUD.
Either way, Ericsson is the loser.

The Q will do fine in China, but it is sad to see such waste as Almstrom represents - personal waste - he himself.

Best.

Merryfield:

China Unicom has made public its commitment to it and Almstrom revealed that China Mobile is going to start investing in CDMA networks.

I may have missed something, but I don't believe that I've previously seen any mention of China Mobile investing in CDMA? I thought they were committed near term to GSM build-out?
