star, the disconnect here can easily be bridged when you consider who you hang around with - college buddies excepted, of course ;-)

>>But the number of folks who complain about Amazon charging taxes in Washington and 'quote' that "charging taxes on the interet is illegal" is frickin' scary. <<

are you arguing my point now? ;-)

>>And if you cleave to the idea that Amazons business will correlate anywhere near to a supply/demand curve, you be smokin' really good stuff.<<

the demand curve is elastic. if it weren't amzn would just raise prices in a sneaky way. 8.5% more dollars for the same stuff sold? no brainer. they don't. elasticity of demand is a beautiful thing ;-) the net makes for e-z substitution of commodity products. 'nuff said.

btw, the "good stuff" isn't available because the "inelastic demand amazon convention volunteers" already smoked it all up! ;-)

>>You are simply giving people way too much credit for smarts.<<

tell that to the bulls ;-)

>>(Friggin' Democrat! <vbg> )<<

that's insulting! i can't stand folks flogging me and all political parties flog. i reach my own conclusions based upon my own thought process and value system - not some prepackaged crap pedaled by the floggers.

in fact, i'd argue republicans are more intellectually honest than democrats. the dems say greed is bad and then act greedy as h*ll. at least the pubs say greed is good before they act greedy.

i can't stand any of the lot b/c reasonableness has been discarded by them once they figured out ways to manipulate the system for personal gain.
