Hi Fred,

Since you asked, and I couldn't resist.....<g>

Here's a very brief summary of the novel...

"The Twilight's Last Gleaming" Copyright, 2001.

This is the story of a NYPD homicide detective with thirty-three years on the force who, during a routine homicide investigation, comes across a military cover-up. Apparently, a US Navy missile destroyer positioned just off the coast accidentally shot down a commercial aircraft during radar target practice then fled the scene to avoid detection. Now, there are a string of homicides in the city. He doesn't investigate the cover-up, he investigates the murders in his city.

During the course of the detective's investigation, there were several twists and turns including at least one attempt on his life. He quickly found himself over his head, but he couldn’t tell anyone what he discovered without risking their safety. His ex-wife sensed that he was in trouble and in extreme danger, and she continued to plead with him to retire immediately before something happened to him as well. He promised to retire but he felt compelled to complete his investigation first. His investigation takes him up the military chain of command. During one final and unexpected twist, an astonishing confrontation takes place between him and the top man who gives all the orders.
