Just wonder how much faith we should have in the effectiveness of FD in truly putting an end to "inside" information - which can filter out and through a large community of human beings in any number of ways other than through dramatic, market-jolting financial announcements. I doubt that guaranteeing (or seeking to guarantee) equal public access to such information can eliminate the edge that the most powerful and well-connected actors in the financial community enjoy and exploit. As ever, I'm ready and willing to be enlightened on the subject.
