Don, true...in that sense, i liked those buyback announcements..they coincided imo with a moment when it appeared that the money would be well spent. interestingly, in the mid 70's, when stocks were cheap, and buybacks would have made sense too, no listed company wanted to hear about them. at the height of the mania, stock buybacks hit fresh records as a matter of course...
