To: Tim Luke who wrote (14690 ) 3/8/2001 2:33:11 PM From: John Busby Read Replies (2) | Respond to of 32871 i have asked you a couple times now to respond in regards to why you suspended one of your long time members who help build si from the start. OJW -- I'm not involved with suspensions or community administration. I'd suggest asking SI Admin Jeff, who handles these. As you may know, however, it is our policy not to discuss the details of suspensions with anyone but the offending member. 1...why cant you respond to my questions in the first place. I'm not involved with member suspensions and don't know the details of this one. I can say that when a question is posed about someone's suspension on SI, I sometimes ask Jeff why it happened, and it's always for a good reason. Because SI doesn't debate suspensions publicly, it oftens seems to users that a suspension is unfair. Of course, that's because the argument is one-sided.2...do you have a business agreement with jenna, marketgems or pristine No.3...why is si changing a threads content, header names ect. There are four pieces of content for each discussion thread. "Forum" -- SI Admins will change a subject's forum at a user's request if a subject could be better categorized, or if we feel it's miscategorized. "Subject Title" -- Normally, we will change a title at a user's request. If a title is misleading or appears to be for the intent of harassing other members (particularly if the title includes the name of an existing thread) we may also change it. "Original Post" -- Thread creators can change this themselves. "Message" -- We don't change these, but will delete TOU violations. All of the above is standard practice and has been. If you have a question about a specific change, please ask SI Jeff.4...does si management ie..YOURSELF or others read our private messages. I don't read other people's private messages, and the admin tools don't give us the capability to. I can't remember an instance where we've had a PM extracted directly from the database. Thanks, John
