M, don't sweat the day-to-day stuff. Chill. Find a trend you can ride.
I realize this is unsolicited advice, which you certainly don't need from anyone, especially me, but based on that last post, I would recommend that you consider walking away from this market for a few days.
Go jogging in the woods. Something.
Life's too short, dude.
I had the most wonderful day today. Didn't make a dime in the market, but it was, just, wow.
And I'll have you know I'm a former COLT shareholder. Made a bundle on the way up. Sold the sucker.
That's right, I didn't make a nickel today. But I learned something new, something I can use for the rest of my life.
And I'm not selling it. :)

re: Right now I am primarily cash because I can not figure out what is going on.

typical inflection point feeling.

re: KO PE

Never short high PE's, short stories you feel will decline.

Also,

Word of warning, try not to become a structural bear. Why? The bulls joined da bears in thinking the same way. We already had all the popular mags, from nearly people mag to biz week, newspapers, TV shows, practically billboards with flashing lights, BEAR MARKET, BEAR MARKET! LOL I would have to say a contagious consensus was formed. Ask yourself this questions? Who doesn't know the naz has fallen in more then half? Heck my 13 year old was asking question about it. Finally, you know your near the end when politicians step in to save the day.

I have stayed away from the dow all this time as the charts were so oversold to me and made a mistake of buying falling knifes of the Naz, I can sit for a few years and wait as I did not buy much except the q's. I did go in just recently and buy ins. bank, & energy when they pulled back, but do not know if I will hold. Right now I have a profit on them.

I feel your pain...I shorted XLNX yesterday too..ecpecting downgrades as the company trades at 400+ PE and falling Revenues...What do you know...the stock is rallying as hard as it fell!!
