flappy, With so many corrupt police chiefs running around the country, I think I will stick with Mr. Heston. The police, quite often, respond late, don't really care anymore, and get chastised if they bust a perp that is of the wrong color, or state of mind. In the past, I have had the highest regard for any officer of the law in the land, but they are being hampered by politics, and not allowed to make judgement calls because the ACLU is looking down their throats, and will create a stink over any situation that has any restrictions by law. The ACLU is a product of liberalism. Then there is the problem of the crowded court dockets, and early release programs for any offense. The simple answer is that there are too many freaks and not enough circuses. ~H~

<<<Some police departments have had a fair amount of success with gun buyback programs, for example.>>

Can you verify this fact? Most buy back programs that I have heard about receive rusty, non working useless guns for buy back.
