I do not totally disagree with your comment but this is what management does do:

"You can't blame Bezos for trying to push up the price of the stock. Isn't that what management is supposed to do?"

I thought management was suppose to execute a well planned out business plan so the firm would turn a profit. In turn, the market would reward those profits with a rise in stock price.
