Pricing - looking at pricewatch this morning

From 1.5 to 1.4 to 1.3 Intel drops the price by 39% and 10% for speed drops of 7% and 8%.

From 1.2 to 1.1 to 1.0 (all 266FSB) AMD drops the price by 9% and 9% for speed drops of 9% and 9%.

Is this giving us any information on binsplits for the two processors? Or is it more likely that what we're seeing is purely a marketing move on Intel's part.

That pricing doesn't seem to indicate that 2GHZ on .18 from Intel is right around the corner, does it? It doesn't even seem to indicate that 1.7 is right around the corner.

That pricing does seem to indicate that 1.3GHZ from AMD is very near term. Given the effort involved in switching machines, and the fact that you can keep a faster machine a little longer, it would seem that AMD is effectively selling the 1.2GHZ parts cheaper than the 1.1 and 1.0 parts.

Binsplits for Thunderbird must be very good. Intel is either playing extreme marketing games, or binsplits for P4 are not very good.
