I think it's no coincidence that many OTCBB or Pink Sheet companies filing SLAPP suits against message board critics are eventually named in SEC enforcement actions. In my opinion, such SLAPP suits were an attempt to send the message to shareholders that the critic's charges were false - even in situations where they turned out to be all too true. Successful companies often have critics as well. Usually such companies are content to answer their critics by continued and increasingly successful financial results.
