In the "dark ages" there were simple means to deal with those who held unacceptable views -- people who thought for themselves were branded as heretics and witches and summarily disposed in public view to a brutal death. I don't respect people simply because of the intensity of their beliefs. When I thought for myself on Yahoo and warned of its risks, three men with hoods said "heretic". They only difference is they used modern communication technology.
