Wolf,

I take it all back. You are really smart. <g>

Wolf... thanks!! Judging by today's activity, and since I bought just prior to the "ex-div", ERF has already proven to be quite profitable. If one could expect a reasonably solid opportunity for 20% annual gains, it is hard to see much immediate downside...
But thanks also for the caution -- I suspect the next few years will be much more favorable to both ERF and EIF than was the '98-'99 period, but I'll be prepared for the possibility that they could be more volatile than most income funds.
I'll read up a bit more as time permits -- I have guests for the next week, and golf, etc, take first priority, as you may understand <GG>
Appreciate your reports on these Canadian trusts --- I was completely unaware of them... And now we have listed offerings --- hoooray!
And BTW, since I am buying into my deferred accounts, the tax consequences are irrelevant -- the best of all worlds <gg>
Cheers!

Wolf... That second article on trusts was a good read. Hope some of those others will be listing on the U.S. exchanges, as I wouldn't mind buying more if I could get a little diversification. Am not sure if I'd run into a lot of trouble holding the Canadian securities.
Anyway, I'm a happy camper having options not offered on the US market.. Thanks! (and thanks to E! for telling me about the ERF nyse listing)
