My area, Southeast Alaska, is affected by the Japan Current. Compared with interior, it is rather temperate. This year we had no below zero that I can think of, but usually we get about two weeks of below zero. It is cool and wet most of the year. People start complaining when the temperature gets above 75 degrees. Rarely does it exceed 80 degrees. It's called "rainforest", but only the first 2000 feet of elevation fits that description. Above is alpine and/or glacier. It's temperate, but the weather can kill you. It will if you get complacent.
