Dummy ETRADE account gets offered shares:

LoudCloud IPO
3/08/01 1:43 PM ET
There are comments and rumors flying on this deal -- no I'm not about to repeat even a single rumor, so save your hate mail.

I will say that a dummy account we have set up at ETrade was offered shares in the deal. This account has done zero business at ETrade and therefore should be somewhere at the absolute end of the line for allocations. Tricky little buggers, we are.

As you know, the deal has been lowered in price/jacked up in size. The net result: the company is trying to raise fewer dollars.

Looking at the cash they have on hand and the current presumed burnrate, they need to get this deal done. Few things smell stronger on Wall Street than desperation.

More as it comes.

Over and out.

Thanks Danny, it will be fun to watch for me. Goldman will likely somehow pop it, IMO, how much, who knows. I'll look at it in the after market.
