I think anytime a species has been put where it doesn't belong that a new equilibrium has to form. That can be good or bad. I heard that the New England lobster business is doing great because of the sewage outfall. Even though it takes 7 years for lobsters to grow, the harvestability has been sustained. Just don't think too much about what they are eating. We don't have a lot of starlings here, but we do get flocks of redwing blackbirds that look like smoke (200k+ individuals). They are native, though, and migratory. Do you have problems with starlings? Where are you?
