You know, I've never done Whitney. I have low hematocrit for a guy and even when I was in the best shape, I suffered from the altitude. I do okay up to 12k and then I start to get light headed. I've been over Glen Pass in Kings, and right up next to Kearsarge (I came in from the West side), but never any higher.

I've never been one to martyr myself. However, I have heard that it is reasonably doable for many people. You'll have to seek first-hand experience elsewhere. Good luck though. I expect to hear all about it! ;)
