OT: another stuck-key story. A few weeks ago I was trying to boot my computer, and each time the process was interrupted and the computer-case itself kept emitting a horrible alarm-type noise that had me truly panicked (sounded like it was warning of a bomb about to go off). Finally, after about a half-dozen re-booting efforts (and even going into "Safe" mode and trying all kinds of other things that I had no business doing), I thought to actually look at the screen as the computer was attempting to boot -- only to see a line that clearly said, as the alarm sounded, "there is a stuck key on your keyboard." In fact, it wasn't even stuck -- I had just somehow managed to let a stack of papers rest on a corner-key, pushing it down slightly. Just another example of how it helps to pay attention to the bootup-readout...

See what happens whey you have hanky panky on the computer table near the keyboard???? That happened to me once, and I had to throw the whole damn keyboard out, along with the service contract!

It cost me 20 bucks to have Amy tell me to hit the back of My keyboard and then reboot computer. Just wanted to pass it on in case it happens to anyone else here.

It can't happen to me HO; I don't even know anyone named Amy. <GG>
