Amazon climbs as DLJ sets $280 price target

Shares of Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) climbed 21 9/16 to 188 13/16 on Friday after Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette boosted its 12-month price target to $280 a share from

$190, citing the potential of its new auction business.

Last month, CIBC Oppenheimer analyst Henry Blodget gave Amazon.com a price target of $400 based on pre-split prices. With some math wizardry, sales assumptions and the growth of e-commerce, Blodget backed up the price target with Wall Street logic.
