retailers are making sales mainly on
discounted items , and auto rebates etc...

they aren't making any money, but
ok for consumers here.

CC still has a weak looking chart. I'm looking to start shorting retailers soon.....question is, how long will consumers continue to spend in this environment? Can they keep it up?

OT:
I think all high schools should have manditory classes on fiscal responsibility. Recently listened to a report on NPR where high school students were asked about their spending habits, and the whole lot of em' had credit cards given to them by their parents, or that they got themselves.

That is scary stuff. Way too much consumer debt, and the next gen. is starting earlier, and getting deeper in debt.

Nothing like starting out life indebted up to the gills. Whoe's gonna teach them how to manage their money? Their Parent? Ha ha ha ha.
