Redbird, I think most INTC longs (here) also have a position in AMD.

AMD will not be taking over INTC any time soon. They do seem to be taking a small amount of market share. That is very little pain to INTC, but a big increase in Rev and EPS for AMD. AMD may earn twice INTC's EPS, while being priced 2/3 INTC's price. AMD WILL enter the laptop market this year and the Server market by next year. Their future chip and flash memory sales look good for the next 3 years.

Redbird,

I appreciate the suggestion but I owned AMD when it was at $17 pre-split. I think its a good company but its hard to own any tech stock in this environment. I am curious as to how the stock will trade tomorrow.

As for not warning, don't be surprised if it does. The economic environment sucks right, and big and small are falling fast. There is over a month til earnings and the warning season has just begun.
