JDN - There are many other service providers that will provide all those features you are looking for in broadband services. Will SUNW be in the middle providing these services? It is not clear weather SUNW will be one of these major players providing all of these broadband services. One area I am invested in is VOIP services. This is where you receive your regular telephone services over the Internet through VOIP (Voice Over Internet).

You will love your broadband features provided by cable. I have microwave broadband which delivers 3.5 megabytes up stream and 500 kilobytes downstream. It now makes streaming video work great and many of the other broadband features as just "normal". Once you use the VOIP features over your broadband network you will be quite surprised as to the "other" features you can use over your connection.

Will SUNW leverage these broadband features in their new products and services? If Yes, they will do quite well in the future. If no, then it will be some time till we see new value added services. I bet that SUNW is well ahead of the curve in deploying these new value added services that broadband has to offer. Specifically, one area is peer-to-peer network computing that can enable the enterprise business to utilize all those PC's to work on centralized computer problems. All those PC computing cycles can be tapped by a centralized program that distributes computer problems through a net centric network. Remember that the network is the computer!

Bill Joy is working on the peer-to-peer problems and opportunities in his new Juxtapose project. Sunw's recent purchase of (http://biz.yahoo.com/rf/010306/n0637746_2.html) demonstrates that Sunw's management is all over this new form of computing.

The future looks good for SUNW IMO....

JDN - It appears that storage demand continues strong in Europe. It will be interesting to see how Sunw's European sales go as I believe they are now introducing their new storage products to customers in this region.
