I just say that we have turned the corner up until the Fed cut and then retrace a little and wait for the Fed to do it's thing up to the point of rescue.

lurqer: Those damn hedge funds have caused A LOT of trouble in the last few years...as I recall one of the largest needed BIG help to bail it out (i believe it was called Long Term Capital). These new vehicles have far fewer restrictions than normal mutual funds and have clearly caused a lot of the volatility that the nasdaq has experienced. IMHO, we would be better off without them...they aren't going to disappear anytime soon though...they seem to be popular investing vehicles for the wealthy =)
